Celebration of Alpha Fest

 Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur, celebrated its cultural extravaganza, Alpha Fest 2025-2026, on September 26 and 27 in its premises.The grand celebration, held from 9am to 4pm, radiated joy, talent, and cultural vibrancy. Members from the four houses Shakespeare, Shaw, Shelley, and Spencer enthusiastically participated in both on-stage and off-stage events. The formal inauguration of Alpha Fest was organized on Sept. 27. The program commenced with a prayer song rendered by the Alpha Choir, followed by a welcome address from. M. Kavya, President of the Student Forum (Shift I). The guests of honor were felicitated by Dr. A. Sivasankar, Principal of Alpha Arts and Science College. The Cultural Brief was presented by V. Kishore, Cultural Secretary of Shift I. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. A. Sivasankar, Principal. The guests were introduced by J. Harish, Student Cultural Secretary, Shift I and S. Devadarshini, Student Community Secretary, Shift I. The guests of honor inspired the gathering with their motivating words. Dheena, Radio Jockey, Co- founder & MD Salt Audios, Audio Solution Specialist, urged the students to be participative and interactive, emphasizing the importance of developing communication and leadership skills through active involvement in college events. T.R. Bala, Othaithamarai and Jinn the Pet fame, Film Director & Producer, shared his remarkable journey from being a student at Alpha to becoming a successful director and producer. His story served as a great source of motivation and inspiration for the Alphians. The event was meticulously planned under the leadership of Suja George, Chairperson, along with George John and Anna John, Joint Directors of the Alpha Group of Institutions. Their commitment to nurturing students’ creativity and confidence has been a driving inspiration behind the successful conduct of Alpha Fest. Vice Principal Dr. Benita Merlin, Coordinator of Applied Courses Dr. Tamilarasi, and S. Kavitha, Cultural Secretary and Convener of Alpha Fest 2025 were the other dignitaries present in the event. The vote of thanks for Inaugural Ceremony was delivered by J. Saronsiya, President of the Student Forum (Shift II). Over 400 students actively participated in an array of competitions. Off-Stage Events conducted on Sept. 26 included Signature Chefs (Food without fire), Grill Fill (Face Painting), Shutter Up (Photography), Mehndi (Bridal Mehndi Design), Minute to Win It (One-minute film festival), Biz Thrive (Business Plan), Trash to Treasure (Art from Waste), and Rhythms of Kavithai Kavithai) On-Stage Events conducted on Sept. 27 included Tap Your Feet (Solo Singing), Beat Sphere (Instruments), Beat Breakers (Adaptune), I’ve Got the Rhythm (Solo Dance), Chronicles of Style (Fashion Walk), Melodica (Group Singing), Folk Dance (Girls’ Indian Folk Style), and Dance Dil Se… (Boys’ Western Dance). Judges evaluated participants on confidence, stage presence, teamwork, coordination, creativity, presentation skills, and choreography. The Alpha Bazaar added vibrancy to the fest, with stalls organized by the four houses. Students of both shifts actively contributed, showcasing artificial jewellery, fancy items, candy houses, and a wide range of food stalls serving bakery products, chat items, ice cream, fresh juice, biriyani, noodles, and more. The Valedictory Ceremony was organized on Sept. 27, 4.30 pm and was graced by the guest of honor, Bharadwaj Sundar, Filmmaker & Co- founder, Slingshot Creations. He addressed the Alphians with immense pride and gratitude, expressing his joy at returning to his Alma Mater. Sharing his journey from being an Alphian to becoming a successful entrepreneur, he left the students inspired and motivated to pursue their own dreams with determination. The prizes distribution ceremony followed. Bharadwaj Sundar and Principal, Dr. A Sivashankar gave away the prizes. The overall trophy for the winning house was bagged by Shelly House. The Shaw house emerged as the Runners Up for Alpha Fest 2025. The Valedictory concluded with a Vote of thanks by Blessan Vass, Student Sports Secretary, Shift II. Alpha Fest 2025–2026 was a grand success, fostering cultural unity and showcasing the multifaceted talents of Alphians. The event reflected the true spirit of creativity, enthusiasm, and camaraderie, leaving lasting memories for all.
