SS Shasun Jain College for women, NSS, (T.Nagar) and Exnora Greater Chennai organized a public awareness program on the need to avoid plastic recently.
As part of the program, Students and Exnora volunteers removed non-bio degradable waste and plastic bottles, polythene covers, etc.
The Students and Exnora volunteers distributed pamphlets to the general public on the need to avoid plastic products, especially polythene covers and bottles in order to save the environment.
Earlier, R. Govindaraj, President, T.Viswanath, Vice President and Mr. Anand Laxman, Secretary, Exnora Greater Chennai explained the need to avoid plastic products and the damage it causes to the environment.
Following this, they interacted with the students and urged them to firstly avoid plastics in their homes and then propagate this message to others.
They also explained the necessity for the students to participate in such awareness campaigns to create a better and pollution free world for them and their children.The Program concluded with the Students taking a pledge to avoid plastic and resume use of bio-degradable products wherever possible. They also pledged that they will encourage others around them to avoid plastics and use bio-degradable products.

விளையாட்டுத் துறையில் சாதித்த வேலம்மாள் பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கு பாராட்டுவிழா

வேலம்மாள் கல்விக் குழுமம் வேலம்மாள் பள்ளி மாணவர்களின் கல்வித்திறனையும், தன்னம்பிக்கையையும் விளையாட்டுத் திறனையும் ஒழுக்கத்தகையும் மேம்படுத்தும் விதமாக சர்வதேச அளவில் பல்வேறு துறைகளில் சாதித்த சாதனையாளர்களை அழைத்து சிறப்பிக்கிறது.
அந்த வரிசையில் ஆலப்பாக்கம் (சிஙிஷிணி) வேலம்மாள் பள்ளியில் ஆகஸ்டு 9ந் தேதி அன்று விளையாட்டுத் துறையில் சாதித்த வேலம்மாள் மாணவர்களுடன் தென்னாப்பிரிக்க அணியின் முன்னாள் நட்சத்திரக் கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் உயர்திரு. ஜான்டி ரோட்ஸ் அவர்கள் கலந்துரையாடியும் பரிசளித்தும் விழாவை சிறப்பித்தார்.

காந்தி விழிப்புணர்வு அணி மக்களிடேயே காந்திய கொள்கையின் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டி கன்னியாகுமரியில் தொடங்கி சென்னை வரை யாத்திரை மேற்கொண்டது.
இந்த யாத்திரை 12.08.17 அன்று முடிந்தது.

இந்தக் குழுவின் உறுப்பினர்கள் அனைவரையும் தக்கர் பாபா வித்யாலயா சமிதி , சென்னை காதி கிராமஉத்தியோக பவன் மற்றும் பிற காந்திய நிறுவனங்கள் இணைந்து பாராட்டின. இறைவணக்கத்துடன் நிகழ்ச்சி தொடங்கியது. திரு பி மாருதி ,செயலாளர் தக்கர் பாபா வித்யாலயா சமிதி அனைவரையும் வரவேற்றார்.

திரு கண்ணன் கணினி துறையிலிருந்து இன்று விவசாயத்திலும் கல்வியிலும் இன்று ஈடுபாடு கொண்டு யாத்திரையில் பங்கேற்றவர் கூறுகையில் காதியை அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்ல வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

திரு சிவகுமார் விழிப்புணர்வு குரலின் ஆசிரியர் பேசுகையில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் சிறு அளிவிலாவது சமூகத்திற்கு ஏதேனும் செய்ய வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

திரு எ கே சுப்பைய்யன் மக்கள் சேவை இயக்கத்தின் பொதுச் செயலாளர் வட நாடுகள் நமது கலாச்சாரத்தை பின்பற்றும் பொது நாம் அதை மறந்து விட்டோம் என வருத்தப்பட்டார்.

திரு அண்ணாமலை ரங்கநாதன் சார்பாக வருகை தந்த திருமதி அஹிம்சா குழந்தைகளுக்கு நட்டு தலைவர்களின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறு கூறி வளர்க்க வேண்டும் என அறிவுறுத்தினார் .

திரு பாஸ்கரன் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி எழுத்தாளர் பேசுகையில் செய்திக்காக மட்டும் காந்தியை உபயோகிக்காமல் ஒவ்வொரு செயலிலும் காந்தியை உணர வேண்டும் என அறிவுறுத்தினார். திரு நரேஷ் குப்தா முன்னாள் அதிகாரி காந்தியடிகள் எளிமையின் மறு உருவம் என புகழ்ந்தார் அவருக்கு மேலை நாடுகளில் மதிப்பு இன்னும் அதிகம் என கூறினார்.

தக்கர் பாபா வித்யாலயாவின் பற்ற வைப்பர் மற்றும் தையற்ப் பயிற்சி மாணவ மாணவிகளுக்கு சான்றிதழ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன திரு N. மார்கண்டன் காந்திகிராம பல்கலைக்கழக முன்னாள் துணை வேந்தர் , காந்திய விழிப்புணர்வு குழுவின் தலைவர் வாழக்கை வாழ்வதற்கான முறையை காந்திஅடிகிலின் வாழ்கையிலிருந்தே கற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம் என்றார் அனால் இன்று நாம் தொலைந்து விட்டோம் அதை உணர்ந்து காந்திய வழியில் வாழ ஆரம்பிக்க வேண்டும் என அறிவுறுத்தினார்.
திருமதி ராஜேஸ்வரி , செயலாளர் சென்னை காதி கிராமஉத்தியோக பவன் நன்றி உரையாற்றினார்.

World earth day

S.J.T. Surana Jain Vidyalaya, Park Town and Exnora Greater Chennai jointly celebrated World Earth Day

S.J.T. Surana Jain Vidyalaya, Park Town and Exnora Greater Chennai jointly celebrated World Earth Day with a unique project under the Theme “Environmental & Climate Literacy” at the School premises.

As part of the Earth Day celebrations, saplings were distributed to the School students and they were urged to create a mini terrace garden at their homes.

Ms. Yogalakshmi, Coordinator, Eco Club of the School welcomed the gathering and explained the importance of Earth day and how students can participate in the activity.

R. Govindaraj, President, Greater Chennai Exnora urged students to take action to save our planet. “Think Globally, Act Locally and Do Domestically is the motto of Exnora” he said. Students should do their mite to save the planet from environmental degradation and Doing Domestically could be their starting point. “You can create a mini terrace garden in your home and compost the vegetable waste to produce manure, which can be used to nourish the terrace garden” he said. Mr. Govindaraj also said that this activity will be an excellent service students can do to help the planet and said that Exnora team will visit their homes and after inspecting their home garden and home composting, will issue certificates and prizes for the best effort.

More than 200 students actively participated in the event, which also included a workshop to discuss the importance of taking up regular activities to save the planet. They held several placards with informative and motivational slogans and many students spoke on the importance of actively involving in the Green initiatives. The Students took a pledge to actively involve themselves in this Earth-saving Activity.

Ms. Kasturi, Ms. Bharani and Ms. Vatsala, teachers of the Schools spoke on the occasion and motivated students to take a lead role in reducing our carbon footprint. Making small changes to our lifestyle and spending a few minutes in the green activities will not only make the planet a better place but also improve our physical and mental health, they said.

Fatheraj J Jain, Secretary-North Chennai and A. Tamilmani, Vice-President, Exnora Greater Chennai, participated in the Event.
Mrs. Uma N. Murthy, Principal, S.J.T. Surana Jain Vidyalaya, coordinated the event and assured that the School will take all necessary steps to motivate their students to participate in this green initiative.
Ms. Santanalakshmi delivered a vote of thanks.
